Little Things {Cuddles}

I've blogged about her 'cuddles' before. It's looking more and more worn everyday, so I've decided to stop moving out of the frame when I'm trying to capture her. Cuddles is her... So it can stay.

Little Things {The Legend of The Golden Snail}

Master M has a fantastic memory (which, for the record he does not get from me).
Four years old, and he will often correct me when I head in the wrong direction of the car park to our car. You tell him something once, and he will take it in. Rules, facts, jokes... he remembers.
Stories are no exception. Often at night when we are choosing our bedtime stories, he will ask if he can 'read' to me.
He's starting to identify letters and their sounds, but no where near reading level... Yet he is so fluent and confident with his remembering of the story, he could fool anyone.
His favourite at the moment, is Graeme Base's newest, 'The Legend of The Golden Snail'... This morning he 'read' it, in some of the yummiest light in our house.

Little Things {Little Chimpin'}

It may or may not come as a surprise that love my camera. Corny I know - but we've been places together. It's gotten me through some tough times. It may not be the biggest, or the best, or the newest model out there, but I'm attached.
I secretly cringe when I have to hand it over to other people, and my own family is no exception. But when my sweet Ava tells me she needs to take photos of us in her "new room" (not actually new, but newly cleaned)... I can't say no.
And I'm so glad I didn't.

And just because looking at these makes me break out in song... A little bit of Stevie Wonder...

"Isn't she pretty
Truly the angel's best
Boy, I'm so happy
We have been heaven blessed
I can't believe what God has done
through us he's given life to one
But isn't she lovely made from love"

Little Things {Beach}

Our last night of holidays. I'll update properly once we're home... but for now, a little bit of Ava sweetness.

Little Things {Exploring and Discovering}

A little stroll around the magic that is Yaya's garden. Spring warmth, laughing children, the sound of Yaya's soothing words from across the yard. Bliss.

Little Things {Landmark}

It's all part of the journey, every click of the shutter, every lightbulb moment, every failed shoot.
I know this. Yet I can't help but feel that today, and every day for the next five weeks... are different. I know it sounds mushy, corny, even a little bold... but I am convinced.
This week marks the beginning of my journey through another fabulous Clickin' Mom's workshop, with one of my most very favourite, amazingly talented photographer idols, Sarah Wilkerson. I'm going to try to post often over the next few weeks, and hopefully when I look back I will remember where I was, and perhaps even see a glimpse of where I want to go.

Looking forward to learning, to growing, to new friendships, and to enjoying the ride.

Today, a little more Louie love...

Little Things {Goldilocks and the Wild Boy}

As told by one very imaginative four year old (yes, I'm hanging onto the 'fourness').

Starring the one and only 'Wild Boy'...

And his lady 'Goldilocks'...

On their quest to escape from the ferocious monster...

Luckily, they all lived happily ever after :)

Little Things {Almost Five}

He's growing up. And I just want to bottle him up.

The things this sweet boy does and says make me burst with pride. He looked after me while I was sick, even telling me to stay in bed while he struggled to help his sister up onto the toilet.
He sneaks into her room to kiss her while she naps, as she won't let him while she's awake.
He feels so bad when she has eaten all her chocolate and has none left, that he gives her half of whatever he has left.
He hates so much to hurt anyones feelings. My Mum was trying to teach him how to do a puzzle on the computer, and it just so happened that she really didn't know what she was doing either... After a little while, he says to her with a big smile 'Grandma, you are really great at not getting these' :)
I could go on all night, but you get the point. The boy is sweet.
I know he has to grow up. But for now, I have him home for one more year. And I'm going to enjoy him.

Little Things {Grateful}

Grateful that after three days of this...

Taken by my sweet friend...
I'm home.

Bliss.

And while I may usually hate not being able to get outside the house and yard to shoot, I appreciated it today more than ever before.

I am blessed to have so many thoughtful, caring and kind friends in my life.

And thankful everyday for my very large, and very loving family.

I'm excited, to get out of the yard.

And I'm grateful, for everything.
